I wish I spoke Spanish because I think the book would’ve been better in its original language. It was fine. Gross but not as gross as I imagined. I think the ending was a bit rushed and unrealistic. Also I’m such a body horror fiend that I didn’t find this too repulsive, but I did think there were parts that were gratuitously violent. Like the depictions of assault for example.
Graphic: Child death, Confinement, Death, Gore, Torture, Violence, Blood, Grief, Cannibalism, Murder, Pregnancy, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Rape, Sexual assault, Trafficking, Death of parent
Minor: Homophobia, Dementia
