I read the first book a while back and mostly remembered it. But this prequel didn’t need it to stand on its own. 

I actually think I liked this one MORE than legends and lattes, somehow. It’s hard to out my finger on but this book flowed so well. There were no slow and arduous sections where it felt like nothing was happening. (The beginning of legends and lattes was a bit slow.) 

Overall a very satisfying read and made me feel very warm. I can’t think of how it could be better at all so high marks for sure.
