Sweet Honesty by Joan Vassar
3.0
I really loved the premise of this book, but I found it kind of boring overall. It was extremely repetitive and the writing was pretty flat. Nothing really "sang" to me or was particularly memorable. For the time period it was set in, I didn't really feel the threat of Jim Crow and segregation in the parts that took place in the South. It just felt like a bit of a missed opportunity to dive a bit more into the historical context without compromising the romance. I did love the love Alex and Michael's families had for them though.
