The Friends We Keep by Jane Green

4.0

A book about friends from college, what's not to like? I love that the author picked diverse characters, brilliant move in creating Maggie, Evvie and Topher. Even though each character has a back story, to some extent a little sad, I love that none of them wallowed in self-pity. I wish I had a bit more about Maggie's childhood. Sure, there is nothing sad there, but I wanted more. I suppose the author chose to keep Maggie's story in the near-past and focus on her current life with Ben. Absolutely love Topher's character. Using Jack's appearance to reveal the past was a great move, I did not anticipate that to be how Maggie comes to know. Enjoyed the book immensely, going to look up more books by this author.
