A gorgeous, complex and real illustration of the African-American experience at an uncertain place between emancipation and freedom. Hurston’s prose is remarkably smooth and her reverence for Black speech, Black humour, and Black language is impossible to miss; it’s beauty.

Misogyny will kill us all!!! Stop the foolishness!!!
