Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 by Hunter S. Thompson

5.0

Took me way too long to finish, but not at all because it was bad. His long and descriptive takes on the campaign trail, and politics in general, were oh-so-refreshing. Almost finished it on April 20th, but missed it by two days. Sorry about that Hunter, I know it would've made you proud. Heard someone say after reading this book again that they would kill to hear and have Hunter write a book about the 2016 election. I couldn't agree more. The things he talks about, the dilemmas and frustrations he has with politics in America in 1972, are still the same ones we have today. This was interesting to hear, but also depressing. HST stories fits that description perfectly, while sprinkling a little mescaline in there to round them out.

"The more things change, the more they stay the same." RIP Hunter S. Thompson.
