(Note - I was able to read an advanced copy of this work courtesy of NetGalley)
The Radium Girls' torment from the radiation poisoning that devoured them from the inside-out, the unbelievable array of barriers thrown in their way by their employers in the quest that many of the girls made for justice and simple recognition, the effects that have rippled out to this day in so many ways....there is simply so much that happens, it's honestly quite difficult for me to decide just where on earth to start in this story.
I do not want to say much more for worry of spoiling a book that I now unabashedly consider an absolute must-read (after admittedly having let it sit unread on my Kindle for far too long). However I will let future readers know that you should be prepared to be shocked, disgusted beyond words, have your heart rent numerous times, yet also be inspired and awed throughout the course of an utterly fantastic and detailed narrative that does immense justice to its subjects.
