I decided to listen to this book instead of the E-book or physical copy. I enjoyed the fact that the author is the narrator of this book. This is my second crime/thriller book I read this year. I enjoyed the plot and the detectives in this book. I did not like the way the LGBTQIA+ people in this book was identify and treated even though I understand that law enforcement does not treat those cases with priority. I had a hard time getting through some parts of the book because of the treatment of other people. I know all of the characters are complex and the background of the characters were important in this book. I will be reading the other two books in this series because I want to see how this series end. The end of the book with the detective brother had my mouth open.
