The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

5.0

AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

Yeah, fuck, the plot twists in this one are as exciting as everyone had told me. The swearing is colorful (I have latched on to "Eat hemp and shit rope" in particular), the characters are distinct and endearing, and the story constantly keeps you on your toes as to who's got the upper hand. I haven't read a book this meaty in... a while, so I did feel like the story lagged in places, but even when the perspective would switch to the past or to other narratives it still remained interesting and relevant. I'm clenching my ass so hard for more Sabetha lore especially, considering how much of it got teased in the book.
