This is probably a brilliant book, and one I might enjoy reading and discussing with others my age and with my interests. But this was decidedly not the book to read and discuss in the context of a 200-level women's literature course! Our conversations were awkward and challenging, until I said that folks didn't have to finish. Jelinek is a clearly compelling writer and thinker, but whew. A challenge to get through.
