Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu
4.0

I had read Ursu's THE REAL BOY and decided to check out her earlier book on Paula Morrow's recommendation. The setting is topical because it's following a similar outline to FROZEN (following Andersen's THE SNOW QUEEN), and I liked that the main character is Indian (adopted by a non-Indian couple) and a child of divorce. The fantasy aspect seemed slightly rushed--would have liked to have seen it developed as fully as Hazel's "real" life, but I like the melding of different story lines into the one novel.
