We Are Displaced by Malala Yousafzai

3.0

Let me start by saying this is not a bad book. I think there are very valuable stories here and they deserve to be heard. That said, it is written in a very simple style and I couldn’t help but feel that there were a lot of things glossed over and sanitised. If this is aimed at teens then I can kind of understand that, but I think the stories these young women have to tell should be told in full. No hidden parts, no making it an easy read, they deserve better than that. They have been through hell. They should be proud of all they have survived and accomplished. I wanted to know more about them, about their lives, about everything. So it’s really a 3.5 from me.
