There were times I was ready to drop this book. There were chapters that were unnecessary and wish were cut out. A lot of the time I felt like those chapters abruptly stopped the plot and made it harder to get back into the story. I didn’t need to know about a heap or not heap or about different chalk. So why the whole chapter of both? Also the flash backs didn’t help my confusion to parts of the story
I felt like Alice didn’t quite learn her lesson neither did Peter. And honestly even at the end Alice was just not someone I cared to have a happy ending. Overall, this story was hard to read. I loved the nods to Cambridge, yes, but the story itself felt like it strayed the path of the plot.
