The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen

4.0

This was a re-read for me, but I still enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. This book has a lot of trigger warnings including rape and murder.

I really enjoyed the way that the story was told and how gripping it was. I found myself reading with the light on when I was home alone, due to how Tess Gerritsen writes.

Jane Rizzoli reminds me of me in the way she has to prove herself in her job role. I can relate to how she has to be in life. I work in a male-dominated industry and even though it is getting better, I still get confused for a receptionist rather than an IT technician. Although I do think sometime she does make choices that are wrong and thinks the worst of people straight away.

you do find out, in a way, who the killer is but you watch the rest of the characters, trying to figure this out. The story is told in an interesting way, it has sections in italics, which are the killer's thoughts, this adds more depth to the character and the story.

I am carrying on this series, Tess Gerritsen is one of my favourite crime/mystery writers.
