Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke

4.0

This started out slow and could have used some streamlining, but generally it was a good story. Like the mysteries by Janet Evanovich, it features a main female character whose mother is trying to play matchmaker for her. However, it has way more of a small town feel than many of this genre (amateur female detectives). The mystery was good, so the slightly wordy beginning gets a pass as this is her first book.
