White Fang
by Jack London
Seemed to run around from place to place. Here's a precursor to The Grey. Now we're following the wolf-dog. Now her kid is growing up. Now he's in this camp, now dogfighting, now he's tamed and he killed this robber. It just seemed like London wrote a chunk of the story, published it, and then wrote another chunk forgetting to make some overarching story as a whole.
Anyways, I love it. White Fang's character is incredibly well-written and consistent, and London seems to espouse a sort of civilized-vs-wild mindset that is very captivating. Flaws (and awkward 'white superiority' notions) be damned, this is a great book.
