Really well written book. I went into this book blind so really didn’t expect how dark it got. It’s definitely light fantasy and heavily based on real world events so if you’re looking for a high fantasy book it’s not for you. I really hated the main two characters really only liked Kitay tbh but I also don’t think your meant to like them. Not 5 stars because I don’t plan on reading the rest of the series
