A Child's Life and Other Stories by Phoebe Gloeckner

5.0

What a raw and brutally honest look at someone's life. Phoebe Gloeckner does not hold back from depicting all of the disturbing and painful experiences she's survived, and it's remarkable to read this account in words and pictures. I read "The Diary of a Teenage Girl" right before picking this one up, and I feel like I got more of the complete story behind several of her traumatic experiences.

I do not recommend this book if you are sensitive to content about abuse, sex, and drugs. If you can stomach the truth, though, then this is an eye-opening read.
