50% - Honestly, this book is so YA that it’s almost cringy… it’s kind of enjoyable (in a guilty pleasure kind of way) but I feel like I’m 15 all over again with all the “WTF” thrown in—actual “WTF” letters written, in a sentence, to read. I’m determined to finish the book but we’ll see if I keep reading the series.

Finished - Well damn, I’m gonna keep reading this series, at least the second book. I was really debating with myself if it would be worth it, seeing how the tone in the beginning was not my cup of tea. Reading YA at 24 years old has become harder than it used to be, but I truly enjoyed this awkward, Twilight-esque, Gen-Z supernatural book. The last 30% of this book is what truly saved it for me and convinced me to read the next one. The ending is EXACTLY what I needed (I love me some lore on THAT specific kind of supernatural) and I can’t wait to read more.

If you’re looking for a guilty pleasure, look no farther.
