I just can’t with this series. Alpha guy takes a woman based on scent as his ‘mate’. She has obvious objections which he and all his community totally ignore. Now I have read a lot of these kinds of books. Fates mates and all are a favorite trope. Not these. And I have tried to put my finger on what it is that bothers me so and it’s hard to figure out. I think it’s that the heroine has real continued objections and the hero totally ignores them. Completely ‘oh I’ll be your perfect mate when you realize it’s us forever’ but in the meantime totally ignores her concerns, objections, etc. and duh, it’s fated mate so they will have a HEA but his obliviousness does not come off as hyper alpha pushiness— but stupid not listening jerkiness.

Either the author needs to change the hero- or change the heroine. I’d almost rather be reading a TSTL heroine with body betraying etc and ‘how dumb are you!’ Yells from me to her than this ridiculousness. It’s like a rational human woman is set in the shifter world and yeah, that’s dumb.
