This book follows the continuing relationship between Caelum and Estrella as they navigate the human lands back to Mistfell and eventually the faerie lands. This book at certain points felt unnecessarily long and drawn out, but as we see Estrella come into more power I think the pacing is right.
There is quite a lot of spice in this book, to the point that it feels like it’s used as a way to tie up scenes. Small skirmish - spice! Discussion about what Estrella might be - spice! New powers - SPICY.
I found this book much better than the first. While the first book was predictable, I found this one more intriguing. The cliff hanger of the first lead me to be more curious about the second, and I will definitely continue the series.
