Clockwork Princess
by Cassandra Clare
That was one bold ending. I never realized how attached I got to the characters and the world of The Infernal Devices until I realized I’d reached the last page of the last book. Needless to say, I don’t think that any book in this trilogy has disappointed me or left any expectation I had unfulfilled.
The characters are once again, so well-developed that I know them better than real people. I may not know a whole lot about that girl in one of my classes, even if we’ve been talking in a lot of them—but I do know Tessa Gray. Cassandra Clare has written her characters with such . . . reality that it’s hard to accept the fact that they’re not real. Even for secondary characters, this is often an issue in some books. But in this series, I know the secondary characters just as much as I know the main characters.
The sub-plots and the main plot are both well paced. I never felt as if any of the plots were dragging, and I never thought that Clare added or stretched any new plots. All I was thinking about was how each plot would reach its own “happily ever after” in the end. And needless to say, they were all more than satisfying. I never felt as if the secondary characters weren’t talked about enough, because they all were.
This book is one of my favorites, so is this series. I cannot believe that I doubted Cassandra Clare after reading just one book by her. If people tell me a book is good, never again will I stop myself by seeing the name of the author. I think I was wrong on that part and am very happy to be proven wrong in that area. So . . . I’m sorry for doubting the rest of your books Cassandra Clare and I hope that your sequel series to The Infernal Devices will be great!
Overall this book was one of the best I’ve ever read. Ever.
This series is recommended to everyone. Like, everyone. Seriously, GO AND READ THIS. YOU NEED TO GO AND READ THIS AND UNDERSTAND MY FEELS. This series honestly has great worldbuilding, great characters, great backstory and everyone knows how much I hate love triangles but this one was just so good. SO GO AND READ THIS.
