Again, had to read this for class and never would have picked it up otherwise. I disliked it only a smidge less than my burning hatred for RW&RB, mostly because that book was nationalist propaganda and this was just a shittily written fan-fic adjacent monstrosity of a novel.

I wish they hadn't gotten together. I wish the end wasn't so abrupt. I wish Oliver was more developed. I wish Luc wasn't so horrible. I also wish I enjoyed this because I can see why people do, but I went into it with low expectations and those were definitely met. I am an aromantic grump so romance to me almost never hits the nail and this is no exception. Everything about this was completely flat. I'm so exhausted. 53 chapters. For what? FOR THIS?

God, I hope the next books I have to read for this class are good. (Next is "love stories not considered romance" so it'll be The Front Runner and Brokeback Mountain and I am cautiously optimistic about liking these.)
