What a start to this trilogy.
We are in a prison that is almost its own Community. The Guardian use their authority to their own gain. The prisoners have heard and short lives being worked down to the bones and in the middle of it all is the prison healer Kiva Meridian trying her best to save peoples live for as long as possible. Until the rebels Queen arrives and sets Kivas entire life on the other end by becoming the Queens champion in an trial through 4 elemental ordeals.
I loved and rooted for Kiva and her friends but the brutal life in prison will give the reader og this book much heartache and despair among the hope for an happy end for the prison healer
