The Bridge
by Bill Konigsberg
This is not my kind of book - BUT - it has value to anyone who wonders why they are here and if anyone would miss them if they leave. There are 3 parts to the book. The first is Tillie committing suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge in NY and Aaron watching and not jumping. The second part is Aaron jumping while Tillie watches and does not jump. The third is them meeting each other on the GW bridge and becoming allies and friends. While I did not enjoy the book much, it is an interesting look into depression, suicide, grappling with lgbtqia+, and how these things affect our family and those around us. The book includes resources about suicide prevention and LGBTQIA+ suicide prevention.
