Fire in His Blood by Ruby Dixon
4.0

What an exciting start to a new series. I had a feeling I would love this series since "Veronica's Dragon" was my favorite from the IPB/Ice Home series. I loved just everything about the dragon mating rituals. This book started off pretty slow but it was understandable since it needed more world building and due to the obvious language barriers between human and dragon. The most frustrating part was the reader knowing what Kael was thinking but she didn't. I was hoping a translation chip would somehow materialize like the did in the Ice planet books (but that would have been too easy). I know many were frustrated by how long it took for her to give in to him, but I think it was too fast. She was left chained naked on a building as dragon bait. She was terrified. The fact that she accepted him so quickly was surprising.

My main disappointments are at the end when she basically sacrifices Sasha. She knew the terror involved with being around a dragon she couldn't speak to and she just allowed that to continue. Surely, they could have figured something out to help her. Maybe this will be addressed more in book 2.

Overall, I really liked the book and look forward to devouring this series like I did with the Ice Planet books.
