I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
challenging
dark
emotional
reflective
sad
medium-paced
5.0
Another memoir in which it feels weird to apply a star rating but I’m still going to.
This was a lot. It’s very heavy, even when Jennette throws in her humor and sarcasm and you find yourself laughing.
I felt like I could relate to Jennette at many times and then at others I felt such incredible empathy, heartache, horror, and compassion for her story and the strength, adaptability, and endurance she exhibited and continues to exhibit.
I think it’s an incredible read and I’m so glad that Jennette has been able to grow and tell her story.
Definitely check TW before reading/listening to her memoir but I recommend it to everyone!
