Chevy Steven's book are formulaic and typically include two or more POVs divided across multiple parts. This book is no different, featuring the POVs of two teenage girls (Hailey, who ran away from home, and Beth, the younger sister of a girl who was murdered in Hailey's home town).

Highlights: I really appreciated the small town setting in this book. The small town felt cloying, with townies both terrified and too cowardly to defy the local police in the same ways that Beth does.

Lowlights: In spite of the dark themes, the characters & writing felt too YA for my tastes. And although I generally enjoy Steven's books, this one is probably my least favorite of her books (thus far).
