My rating is not due to the dark themes of the book. This is 100% Khal Drogo fanfiction and the world is just as brutal and unkind to women as the source material. My issue was mainly the braindead, flippant FMC. Rape? He's the best lover I've ever had so all is forgiven. Plus look how cool my clothes are. Slaves? I won't call them that but they sure make my life nice. My husband better not sleep with any of them though. Being slapped was the only thing she really objected to (but even that she eventually forgave).
The writing also made this book difficult to read--lots of fragmented sentences, reiteration, long-winded descriptions, and nested parentheses. About 60% in I couldn't take it anymore and skimmed to the end.
