Naruto, Vol. 1: Uzumaki Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto

3.0

You know what. I figured if I was gonna talk the talk, then I had to walk the walk. Five years of making Naruto jokes, sitting atop my high horse, being like "oh well at least I don't actually like Naruto, ha ha ha," and ragging on it based on peripheral knowledge alone be damned. But goddamnit I started reading it and I'm ~100 chapters in and I'm enjoying myself. A shonen good time. Literally nobody can come for me over this because there's no way you can be more embarrassed than I am. Like it's stupid but it's fun, and also definitely the kind of thing where it doesn't translate well from comic to TV format so I totally understand why people hate the show. Naruto is kinda dumb but he's a sweet kid and he's very supportive of his friends and I just think that's nice. The forced het romance is laughable. Gotta love Sasuke. Anyway I don't really want to log all 90-whatever volumes into my goodreads but I'll do this one because if I'm going to sink 700 chapters of my attention into this it should count for something
