The Ice at the End of the World: An Epic Journey into Greenland's Buried Past and Our Perilous Future by Jon Gertner

3.0

This is one of those books that needed my full and complete attention. I'm usually not used to reading about heavy scientific topics so this one was very hard to get through. Not the book's fault of course, that one is on me.

I found the first section of the book fascinating, which highlighted the European expeditions to Greenland and a brief history of the Inuit communities. However, after a while this did feel like a textbook to me, and I kept wondering to myself - how much of this do I really need to remember? It's was very heavy with information and didn't give me enough of a break to take a moment, and really think.

One of the things I wish the narrator had done was to step into the narrative, and relay his own findings instead of just giving the information. However, if you're into geology and want to know more about climate change, this book is a very valuable resource.
