The Shadow Wand by Laurie Forest

3.0

I found myself having a love-hate relationship with this book. Mainly because of the lack of character development. It was bad, many characters just spin their wheels. Some of the writing was lazy in this regard. The one exception I will make is that of Lucas Gray. I did appreciate his character development.

I feel like the plot was more focused on the love story… which I find too much of to be unnecessary. The shear amount of it gave me gave me Hunger Games/Twilight love drama vibes.

Aside from this, the plot between the protagonist and the antagonist was fairly well written. I’m interested to see how the story comes to a head.
