This book was just way too stereotypical for me. Seemed a bit pedestrian. Wasn’t impressed by the writing. The romance was a bully romance at first that I never was able to see past and forgive the MMC. No one in the book seemed to have a shred of emotional development except Simon, the FMC’s stepdad. It was just messy and frustrating. I cannot believe this turns into a full series of books honestly. I thought the author was surely from the Boomer generation based on some of the character’ traits, the cheesy and stereotypical aspects, and a very odd comment on being a “muscular 135 lbs” (with the implication that she’s surely not a “fat” 135lbs). So I was shocked to discover that wasn’t the case. Just not my cup of tea.
