The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman

4.0

This one took me a while to get through, but that ending! I think this is the best ending in the series, which says a lot considering these books end quickly without much resolution.

When Irene kept mentioning how little time she had with Kai or how she wasn’t teaching him well, I figured it was a set-up for later books. The way things ended up in this book, I’m glad it happened.

I didn’t realize how much I liked Kai. I didn’t enjoy how overprotective he was of Irene, but my feelings when he resigned from the Library were loud and clear. I was ready to stop reading this series since Kai was out of the picture.

And then he was standing there.

And then Irene couldn’t help herself but kiss him.

And Vale…well he was staring into a microscope.

I was loosing a lot of faith in this series by this book, but now I think I’m hooked again.

I will still complain that the chapter endings are too cliffhanger-y for my liking and I hope from now on the endings of future books will be more like this one’s. Only time will tell!
