This was an entertaining story and I really enjoyed the travel aspect and the different locations in the story.
I didn't really vibe with Anne, though. I felt like she wasn't thinking things through a lot of the time and made rash decisions, and I really could not buy into the love story. When she first told Susanne about her feelings for Harry, I thought she was making it up because she suspected Susanne and was trying to deceive her somehow!
I love Agatha Christie, but the romances in her books usually come out of nowhere in my opinion and here it was especially bad. Why on earth would Anne be passionately in love with a man she has barely spoken to, and be totally cool with him joking about beating her up? (I know that joke is probably a product of the time but I just couldn't get over it.) For these reasons, the story didn't fully work for me.
But in the end, Agatha Christie delivers on mysteries and theSir Eustace reveal made me actually gasp out loud. I did not see it coming, and that feeling is something I love when reading!
