The Dare by Harley Laroux
5.0
My husband has read this one before awhile ago and said he'd read it again, so we both buddy read it and now I'm hooked on Harley Laroux. I also have Her Soul To Take by her that I want to buddy read with my husband soon, and pick up the rest of Losers series to continue.
The fact that SAFE BDSM was used during this whole novella has me respecting Harley's writing. The constant check ins, the reminder of the safe word, the teaching moments to make sure she understands the game. That was just as satisfying as the smut itself. The dynamic of the characters, an enemies to lovers vibe (or opposites attract because cheerleader x outcasts), the reverse harem/why choose moment with her and multiple guys. All of it was just beautiful.
My husband pointed out he wasn't a fan of the constant bringing up the past, with high school, but understands why it's in there. I see his point, but I was more understanding. Though, it DID get a bit repetitive. I hope it doesn't get brought up heavily with the next books in the series, THEN I would start having the same issue my husband has.
Please be aware there's things in this that can be triggering, so check trigger warnings. I will point out Clowns being one of the triggers, as I know it's a phobia of a lot of people. You'll have to check out a list for more specific triggers.
