I took my time reading this book, much much longer than I truly wanted too, because I simply did not want it to end. I am deeply in love with this book. It was everything I could have hoped for in a grown up version of a fairy tale and I really loved the ending. Marra is spectacular! She’s afraid of everything but has a conviction and loyalty that outweighs her fears and apprehensions. Marra, the dust-wife (Lady Fox), Fenris, and Agnes are a quirky foursome led by a bone dog, demon chicken, and cursed chick. Their adventure through the goblin market to murder the abusive King Vorling and save Marta’s sister Kania is fantastical and very much true fairy tale. There is magic and godmothers and curses and ghosts. It’s such a great story. I just wish there was more but not because the story needed more, I was simply sad to finish it because it was so good! I will definitely read it again and probably get the audiobook as well. Thank you T. Kingfisher for being one of my favorite authors! This was another smashing hit and I cannot wait for to read more of your works.
