This is my first time reading a Greek mythology book. I should say I really enjoyed this book until I didn't realize that the genre is historical. It's a great book if you want to learn about the Gods and Goddesses from Greek mythology. It makes you understand the connection between some Gods and Goddesses without making you feel bored at all. The characters possess a modern essence while being entwined in traditional mythology simultaneously. But I must say, my reading pace when I read this book is very slow because I need to pay attention to everything being told in this book.

The book's point of view is Circe's POV. She is the daughter of Helion, the God of the sun. Although she is being treated badly by the other Gods and Goddesses, she is still kind to others, especially to mortals. She is not a reckless or arrogant God like the others. This book explains a lot about how rude and arrogant most of the Gods and Goddesses are; they often look down on others weaker than them, especially mortals.

The book is not that typical fairy tale or happy ending book. The book simply wants to tell you what really happened amongst the Gods and Goddesses. Madeline Miller did a great job writing this book. I am really satisfied with the ending. I highly recommend those who are interested in Greek mythology to read this book. I will give a straight five-star rating for this book!
