I honestly don't know what to think about this book and the story of the life and death of Mary Anne Schwalbe.

To be honest - I haven't heard of most of the books being mentioned and discussed in this book and I haven't read a single one. And, I'm not sure I'm going to read one since they are, at the moment, not interesting enough for me. So, I can't say much about this part of the book.

I liked getting to know Mary Anne Schwalbe through the eyes of her son, Will Schwalbe, and the books they've read. I liked to read about the Mother & Son bond they had and how they dealt with the diagnosis and everything that comes with and after that.

I like that the side effects of the chemo are mentioned and how it effected such a energetic and driven woman like Mary Anne.

There were some things that were repetitive (yes, I know that she worked for the IRC and the Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children, you've already mentioned that a dozen of times) but in general I enjoyed reading this book.
