One Arranged Murder by Chetan Bhagat
2.0

Keshav and Saurabh are best friends and they started a private detective agency after they solved a case of a murder one year back. Saurabh is now engaged to Prerna and due to some reasons, he stopped talking much with Keshav. On the auspicious day of Karva Chauth, Prerna calls Saurabh and tells that she is keeping fasting today and she wanted to meet him at her terrace. Saurabh was so excited to meet her. And when he reached the terrace, he didn’t find Prerna but only her body. Police suspects Saurabh since he was the only one who came from terrace. Saurabh then calls Keshav and explains the situation.
What happened to Prerna?
Did she commit suicide or is it a planned murder?
Did Keshav find the murderer?
Chetan Bhagat books always gives me nostalgic feeling. I have read and loved some of his books early in my schools. Recently I read his girl in room 105 book and kind of liked it. Since this book is also with the same characters, I thought why not? This book is not a sequel of the previous book but the characters are same and the story is different. The character development was good. But the storyline was very much predictable. I was able to guess the murderer at half of the book. I also felt in some of the chapters that story was draggy. There are some places where they talk only about food forgetting the main plot that is finding the murderer. Otherwise, this book was hilarious and the pace of the story is really good. Chetan’s justification for each suspect was perfect. If you are Chetan Bhagat fan and a new crime thriller reader you will definitely find this book interesting. However, if you are a crime thriller lover then you may not find this that impressive since you can easily guess the murderer. Give this book a try and let me know how you felt about this book.
