Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

4.25

  • as far as YA goes, this book is great. as good as I remember
  • obviously Tally is pretty childish (she’s 16 and sheltered) and the plot is a bit predictable, but the themes are actually super super interesting and complex
  • also, it’s a super quick and engaging read
  • the world is super interesting too… I love a good dystopian moment
  • the romance between
    david and tally
falls a little flat to me though if I’m being honest.
I mean, it feels like they barely interact before they like each other.
