I absolutely adore vampires and this interpretation of them was refreshing to read.  I.V. Ophelia sets a captivating stage early on and keeps your attention.

Silas gave off huge golden retriever energy and it was easy to love him. His interactions with Alina were full of banter and tension—I don’t think they had a single dull moment. The last 100 pages left me intrigued by his family dynamics.

I was really hoping that the plot would be more fleshed out. At times, I felt like this was essentially a dark romance trope checklist. Occasionally, the story progression was a bit choppy, but, this wasn’t overly off-putting for me.

Overall, this was a 7/10 for me. I’m looking forward to the next book and learning more about where it takes Silas and Alina.
