I have reread this book many times. I think it is a sweet love story. But it wasn’t until this last time that I realize that this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. And maybe that’s why I don’t end up giving it more than three stars. Persephone doesn’t seem like a full well-rounded character who is intensely hurt by Adam’s actions. And they never talk about all of the misunderstandings and miscommunications that they had along the way in their love story.
