Boom Boom Go Away! by Laura Geringer

3.0

This is kind of a weird book. It's a cute idea, but I want to kill the author for not including any information about the song that apparently inspired it (and I'm not the only one), especially since the rythm is off at one point, which makes me very curious, because I want to know how the song deals with it! It's also a terrible bedtime book ("yes, let's get the kids really hyped up by making all kinds of loud noises and hope that will send them to sleep"). But it's fun (if a bit long) to read aloud at a story time for younger kids, although the end, where the child has apparently been sent to sleep by all the racket, is a little weird. Watch 20 parents and nannies roll their eyes when you read that aloud!
