I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

emotional funny informative reflective sad fast-paced

5.0

Picked this up purely because of the hype and because I enjoyed a couple of other memoirs this year. This was really good! The writing style was on point and the delivery in the audiobook (by the author herself) was flawless. Jennette McCurdy went through a lot and clearly did a lot of reflection, which made this memoir really interesting. What surprised me most was how great the writing voice was. She managed to make this really engaging and often quite funny. I would recommend this for sure, even if you don't know the author from her acting career (I didn't). The audiobook is the way to go. I'm curious to see if McCurdy will write anything else.
