Aurora Burning by Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman

5.0

I CAN'T EVEN WITH THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!! I AM NOT FEELING NOTHING!

Aurora Burning is book two in the Aurora Cycle by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Squad 312 is (mostly) back again, and still on the run from the Ra'haam and the Terran government. As they try to lay low and figure out how to get Auri where she needs to be to find the Weapon to save the galaxy, shit goes down. Like always. This book is so action packed it is hard to put down, and of course I was bawling like a baby by the end. I swear these two just cook up ways to torment their readers.

Kaufman and Kristoff are quite literally a match made for writing. Their writing is seamless and always witty while still providing excellent world building and character development. I love that what seemed like three different story lines all kind of converged into an overall agenda in Aurora Burning in ways that I couldn't originally see during Aurora Rising. I really enjoyed the ENTIRE book, and I can't wait until the next one comes out. This is one series I actually read right after it comes out after having missed the OG bandwagon of the Illuminae Files. I feel so connected to these characters and can only imagine what is in store for them.

I don't want to have a spoilery review, so I think I'm going to leave it there. I can't say enough good things about this book, which is saying something compared to all the other books I have read this year. By far tops my chart so far. If you love sci-fi I would highly recommend these books, as well as the Illuminae Files.
