Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys

Krasivaya.

Beautiful yet heartbreaking. I have never heard the stories of deportations and imprisonments of the Baltic people during WWII. Stories from survivors of this terrible, disgusting moment in history are always so unimaginable. My heart aches for those lost and the ones who prevailed. The chapters are short but powerful. There were lots of tears, even some ugly crying. I look forward to reading more from this author.
