Verity Durant is a well known chef. Her cooking is praised throughout London, and her love life is full of rumored scandal. As a new resident and employer begins his life at Fairleigh Park, Verity is determined to continue her hard earned life, earning praise for immaculate food. Stuart Somerset never intended to reside in Fairleigh Park. He is a rising political star without the patience for fine dining. Focused on work and his new fiancĂ©, he never intends to becoming suddenly enamored with the food (and the chef) of his new estate.

I have always had an appreciation for food and those who can prepare it so well. The food descriptions throughout the book certainly made me hungry, but the sensual reactions they earned from the characters was odd for me. Am I the only one that doesn’t feel like sleeping with the chef just because they cooked a great meal? The love story was interesting with some fun surprises, but I found the side characters and side love story much more entertaining that the main one!
