The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

2.0

2.5 stars. This book was decent but nothing more. I was actually kind of surprised to see all the amazing reviews here.
I found the plot dull and seemed to follow the exact formula of girl-meets-boy, no one wants them together, they date anyways, fall in love, get in a fight, boy makes dramatic love-saving speech blah blah blah. I also found Xander was lacking in any really personality other than being rich, kind and a perfect boyfriend. I much preferred reading about Caymen's relationships with her mother and friends than her relationship with Xander despite the fact that Xander was front and centre of the novel.
As many people pointed out, the ending was
I did find that Caymen's character and her mother's character were well-crafted. I liked Caymen's sarcasm but if anything, got a bit tired of it by the end.
I don't know...maybe it just wasn't my kind of book. If you are going to read it, know that it's more of a humourous, "cute" read than anything thought-provoking like I was hoping for.
