I really loved this book! I could be biased since I'm a massive French nerd and this book is set in Paris in the lead up to the French Revolution and had so many little bits of French in it. But it also just had a really fun and interesting plot, with lots of different characters and an interesting magic system. I felt that the book built up to the climax really well and the end was fitting and satisfying.

I was also really impressed that this book included a POC main character and queer side characters because so many people would argue against it based on 'historical accuracy' (which, is the author points out in her end note, is bull).
